Stefan Schleicher is Professor of Economics at the University of Graz, Austria.
He obtained his academic degrees from the University of Technology in Graz and the University of Vienna.
He held academic positions at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Vienna , the University of Bonn ,, the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and Stanford University.
His research focuses on economic modeling with special emphasis on sustainable development in the context of energy, climate, and environmental policy.
He is currently coordinator of the research project TranSust, which is funded by the European Commission and aims at modeling the transition to sustainable economic structures.
He also coordinated a research project for preparing the Austrian National Allocation Plan within the EU Emissions Trading Scheme.
